From here, we’ll continue our journey through the enchanting Polylepis forest, an area teeming with unique flora, before reaching Llulluchapampa, nestled in the Puna ecosystem.

The best months to hike the Inca Trail 4 days are from May to September, which is Peru’s dry season. During this period, travelers enjoy clearer skies, more stable weather, and excellent trail conditions, making it the most popular time for trekking to Machu Picchu. In recent years, weather patterns have slightly shifted, with reduced rainfall and extended dry conditions lasting into October and sometimes even November. This has made the shoulder months increasingly attractive for travelers seeking good weather with fewer crowds. April and October are considered excellent shoulder-season alternatives. These months offer greener landscapes, milder temperatures, and fewer hikers, although occasional rain showers are still possible. It’s important to note that the Inca Trail is closed every February for annual maintenance and conservation work, and trekking is not permitted during this month.

To secure your permit: • Choose your preferred travel date • Select a licensed tour operator • Submit your passport information exactly as shown • Complete the booking and payment process Due to limited availability, it’s highly recommended to book 5–6 months in advance, or up to 9 months ahead for peak season travel.
